Originally a place for information and tools to protest against UC Berkeley's elimination of its Autonomous NAGPRA (Native American Graves and Repatriation Act) Unit, this site documents what is happening with the collection at the Hearst, and the UCOP Repatriation Committee's rulings.

What Happened with the American Anthropological Association?
This is just another e-mail submitted by Sandra Harris, Vice-Director of the Hearst Museum as evidence to the State Senate Hearings on February 26th, 2008. Once again, we have to ask, why is she reading the Director's email and submitting it as evidence? We also have to ask, was their an investigation from the American Anthroplogical Association? Yes, there is a small faction among the AAA that is opposed to NAGPRA and repatriation. They don't speak for many of the anthropologists that I know, but it is still sad to see that they have sway.
